Is UniPad really free?

Yes! UniPad is 100% free with no ads or in-app purchases. The entire source code is open on GitHub.

What is a UniPack?

A UniPack is a ZIP file containing sounds, LED sequences, and auto-play data. It's UniPad's standard format for sharing musical projects.

Can I use a real Launchpad?

Yes! Connect your Launchpad via USB on Android, or use Web MIDI in your browser. The app automatically detects and maps your hardware.

How do I create custom skins?

Create a ZIP file with custom button images, backgrounds, and a theme.json file. Check the Theme documentation for the full specification.

Where can I find UniPacks to play?

Open the Store in the app or the web player and download packs for free, or import a .zip you already have. Creators also share UniPacks on our Discord community and Facebook groups.

What's the difference between the Web and Android versions?

Core features are the same. The Web version works instantly in your browser with no install, while the Android app offers lower audio latency and USB Launchpad support.

Can I create my own UniPack?

Yes! Write sound files along with keySound, keyLed, and autoPlay text files, then bundle them into a ZIP. Check the UniPack documentation for the full format specification.
